Götti Switzerland and the Festival del film Locarno
Götti Switzerland was partnering with the 68th Festival del film Locarno for the second time and was producing limited edition sunglasses to mark the Festival. The design was developed exclusively for this partnership in a second round of collaboration between the legendary film festival and the international eyewear brand.
Following a successful start last year, the cooperation is being continued for this year‘s edition. The Götti Switzerland design team developed two exclusive sunglass models for this year‘s film festival. The women‘s and men‘s models come in black and feature gold mirrored lenses which discreetly mirror the Pardo in Locarno, the symbol of the film festival.
The sunglass designs purposely reflect the era of the great film legends. The contemporarily interpreted butterfly shape of the women’s sunglasses is reminiscent of those made for Elizabeth Taylor or Audrey Hepburn, while the shape of the men‘s sunglasses harkens back to classics from the 1960s such as those sported by Carry Grant or Richard Burton.
Only a limited run of 50 pairs was produced in the film festival edition. Each model is numbered and one of a kind. The sunglasses will be handed to movie stars and film-makers at the festival.
